Ministry for the Congregation
Men of Judah
The Men of Judah is the primary ministry for all men at TOTC. We believe that men should be men of vision, wisdom, integrity, honor, strength, and valor; but also men of spirit-filled Praise in the same manner as David, Aspah, Heman, and Jeduthun. At TOTC, we believe that men should lead out in praise and worship in the house of the Lord and intercessory prayer. We also believe that men should encourage one another, sharpen the iron of their brother, and help each other strive for excellence and perfection in the church, home, and community. Men of Judah must reflect men who love their wives as Christ loved the church (married), function as the priest, prophet, and protectors of their homes, represent the image of God in their daily lives, and a pattern of good works. Our goal is to minister to the whole person (spiritual, natural, psychological, sociological, emotional, and physical).
Women of Wisdom
The Women of Wisdom is the primary ministry for all women at TOTC. We believe that women of wisdom should demonstrate a high level of Godly acumen and application of Biblical principles. We believe that women should be chaste and humble; married women who love their husbands and children, meek, sober minded, discreet, and keepers of their homes. Women at TOTC will be empowered to strive for excellence not only in the home, but in the ministry of the Tabernacle. The seasoned women have the responsibility to inculcate the younger women in both spiritual and natural life experiences. At TOTC, our endeavor is for all women to reflect the image of God and the Proverbs 31 women; women of wisdom and intercessory prayer. Our goal is to minister to the whole person (spiritual, natural, psychological, sociological, emotional, and physical).
The youth of TOTC reflect strength, might, and vibrancy. We believe that God calls the young because they are strong – we believe that it is time for a youth movement that serves as the catalyst for a strong move of God that will bring transformation and catapult youth into their purpose and destiny. At TOTC, the youth do not represent the generation of tomorrow, but the generation of NOW; they are the present, they are the leaders of today; the generation that will usher in the last day revival. We are believing God for a youth movement; a movement that will bring salvation and deliverance through Jesus Christ, a movement that will change regions, territories, communities, neighborhoods, and schools.
Singles – Sold out & Loving it (SOLI)
The singles ministry at TOTC will place a strong emphasis and focus on singles who are completely sold out to God and loving every minute of it. At TOTC, our goal is for singles to be vessels that are yielded unto God; that they focus upon the Lord without distraction and seek the perfect will of God. The singles ministry will encourage singles to be anointed vessels unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s purpose. The singles ministry will seek to promote chastity, abstinence, and intercessory prayer, strong study of the Bible, sanctification, as well as fellowship and having fun with other singles. At TOTC, we desire that singles become SOLI – Sold out and loving it.
Single Parents Support
The single parent support ministry provides spiritual and natural support to single parents who are in need of mentoring, life coaching, and encouragement. The ministry seeks to promote effective Biblical parenting skills, access to community resources and financial management, employment, education, prioritization, and mediation skills. We will also teach single parents how to balance raising a family and meeting spiritual obligations such as attending church service, participating in church activities, intercessory prayer, and spending quality time with God.
Children of Destiny, Purpose, and Praise
The Children of Destiny, Purpose, and Praise ministry will focus on training children in the admonition of the Lord, teach children to remember the Creator (God) in the days of their youth, and teach them about the life, ministry, crucifixion, death, resurrection, ascension, and Second Advent of Jesus Christ. The Bible records the words of Jesus when he said to suffer the little children to come unto Him and don’t stop them for theirs is the Kingdom of God. At TOTC, we believe that out of the mouth of babes praise is perfected; children have a purpose that will be revealed and a destiny to fulfill. We believe that God knows that purpose and destiny before we were formed in the womb. Our goal is to have every child know their purpose and destiny and to become a praise in the earth.
Two in One – Couples Ministry
The couple’s ministry at TOTC will place a strong emphasis on unity between husbands and wives. The Bible states that for this cause (marriage) a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh – she is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. At TOTC, we believe that marriage is honorable in all things and that husbands should love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for the Church. We believe that husbands must be the priest, prophet, and protectors of their homes; they must provide for the total well-being of their families. We also believe that wives should love their husbands, function as keepers of their homes, care for their children, and reflect a Proverbs 31 woman. The couple’s ministry will seek to promote complete unity among married couples, demonstrate a strong love for one another, honor the marriage vows, and remain married until death separates them.
Ministry for Humanity
The ministry of evangelism and outreach at TOTC is not an option; it is a commandment that Jesus left the church before His Ascension to heaven. We believe that evangelism is the God inspired; God breathed eclectic method imparted to the church to communicate the Gospel of His kingdom to individuals of all backgrounds with the result of reformation and transformation in their lives, families, communities, territories, and geo-graphic regions. Evangelism is the heartbeat of the church and not a onetime event, but a repeated event. If we remain inside the Tabernacle, our Gospel will be hid to those that are lost. At TOTC, our focus is to impact every social system of society with the Gospel message – it is God’s will that none should perish, but that all come to repentance. We believe that all Christians are commanded to participate in evangelism and reaching the lost – we must go into the highways and hedges and compel them to come into His house that the house may be filled. Once we accept Jesus in our lives we become fishers of men.
Evangelism is one of the most important ministries in Christendom and TOTC. Evangelism is the vehicle that God has ordained for the world to hear the message of the Kingdom – the birth, life, crucifixion, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. The Gospel message is inspiring, convicting, encouraging, and life changing. It is a beautiful feeling to share the Gospel message and witness an individual be transformed by the power of the Gospel.
Prison Ministry (Breaking the Chains that Bind)
The prison ministry at TOTC will seek to meet the spiritual needs of men, women, and youth who are incarcerated. We believe that the prison ministry is a great evangelistic field and an awesome opportunity to promulgate the gospel of Jesus Christ. The commandment of Jesus Christ mandates that the Church visit those that are in prison or confined to a local/state/federal institution. At TOTC, we not only seek to meet the spiritual needs of the individual who is imprisoned, but also the spiritual needs of family members and relatives left behind. Our goal is to minister to the whole person and whole family. At TOTC, we also believe that individuals can be entrapped in a spiritual prison in their mind. Thus, it is incumbent upon the church to preach deliverance to the captives and the opening of the prison to individuals who are bound.
Spiritual Formation / Discipleship
Discipleship is the systematic and spontaneous process instituted by God through Jesus Christ to teach, train, and equip new disciples to ensure proper and appropriate spiritual development and formation to the dictates and principles outlined in the scriptures. The designation of the process is to produce spiritually qualified men and women who are dedicated and committed to reproduce others in the same manner. At TOTC, we follow the commandment of Jesus Christ to make disciples.
Discipleship is the process of transformation and maturation, from a newborn disciple to mature disciple. The transformation process includes but is not limited to: adherence (avid support, loyalty, and consistency) and obedience to God and His word, faithfulness to worship service, seeking the infilling of the Holy Spirit, developing effective Bible study habits, developing a life of prayer and consecration, a commitment to become a faithful giver of tithes and offering and a commitment to spiritual growth, development, discipline, and dedication to evangelize and participate in the discipleship of others.
Missions (Foreign & Domestic) – Helping Hands
The ministry of missions is two-fold in its purpose; the first ministry is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and proclaim the message of the Kingdom to every person. The second is to assist those in society who are impoverished, indigent, and unable to meet their natural needs such as food, housing, and clothing. At TOTC, we believe in assisting the poor, the fatherless, and widows – Jesus fed four thousand and another five thousand on two separate occasions. The ministry of missions is inclusive of local missions within our city, state, and country as well as abroad in other parts of the world.
Ministry of Intercession (Ministry of Spiritual Support for the Tabernacle)
Prayer, Fasting, & Consecration
The ministry of intercession, fasting, and consecration, is one of the most imperative ministries at TOTC. Intercessory prayer, fasting, and consecration provide spiritual support for all TOTC ministries and staff. We believe that all members of TOTC must be fastened to the altar of God and pray earnestly that the perfect will and all prophetic utterances of God be fulfilled. We pray because Jesus commanded that men (mankind) must always pray and not faint; Jesus remained in prayer, fasting, and consecration. Thus, it behooves every Christian to develop and maintain a consistent life of prayer, fasting, and consecration. At TOTC, we believe that fasting (abstinence from food, beverage, etc.) breaks down the mindset of the flesh and assists us in coming closer to God and emanating His image. We consecrate to set ourselves apart from self and the world to become a vessel unto honor that God can utilize for His Kingdom and Glory. At TOTC, we believe that prayer changes things and the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much and that God answers prayer.
All members at TOTC have made a strong commitment and dedication to pray for one (1) hour each day. We also have Pre-Worship prayer every Sunday morning at 10:15 am. We pray for the TOTC Ministries, the Tabernacle Church Family, New Columbia Villa & St. Johns Community, Our President (President Barack Obama), Our State Governor, (Governor Ted Kulongoski), Our City Mayor (Mayor Sam Adams) government officials at all levels, and that God would prepare our hearts for increase, and the end time revival.
